Read This. Because I plan to put mental effort into it. K?

New York city.
The big freaking apple.
I just got back so I figured the least I could do is write a post on tips and suggestions. So here goes nothing…
Foremost, surviving your vacation in NY means mastering public transportation. Forget taxis, except to/from the airport. They are ridiculously expensive. Take the subway, it’s quick, cheap and stops everywhere. But the subway is also tricky. Study the system of trains like your final exam is tomorrow and you will not get lost. There are apps like HopStop to help you find the quickest route to your destination as well.
Next, one big thing. Save money. Don’t stay in some stupid hotel like you would everywhere else, paying ridiculous amounts for a room. Get on a vacation rental site like VRBO and find yourself a decent apartment in any part of town and live like a real New Yorker for your trip.
Third: food. There is no need to be extravagant, a lot of great food is also at a great price. Where to eat? Look for a line out the door. You will need to wait of you want the best of the best, be it pizza or Asian or what have you. Personally, John’s pizzeria in greenwich village is the best pizza in NY and the wait is not bad at all for lunch. Just try a service like Yelp! to find great eats!
Finally, if you plan on seriously shopping (who doesn’t?) PLAN A SHOPPING DAY. Only shop on that day. Why? If you shop a little each day you will be carrying all the things you buy until you get back home at god-knows-how-late that night. Do it all, put it up in the apartment and travel light the rest of your time.
Cheers,
Jake.

As long as the plague is selective and only gets people I can’t stand

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and been widely regarded as a bad move.
